Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Aviatrix Communications different from other marketing agencies?
Aviation is all we do. We work with commercial, general aviation, and cargo airports, along with the consultancies and associations around them, so the context is already familiar. We understand why a terminal opening matters to the community, and why a master plan needs public meetings before it needs renderings. Our team brings more than a century of combined aviation communications experience.
What types of aviation businesses does Aviatrix Communications work with?
Airports — commercial, general aviation, and cargo — plus the consultancies and associations that work alongside them. Clients include Charleston International, Columbus Regional Airport Authority, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway, JFK Terminal One, Long Beach, Ontario International, Greenville-Spartanburg, Los Angeles World Airports, and NBAA, along with planning and engineering firms like Mead & Hunt, Garver, and Ricondo.
Does Aviatrix Communications provide Title II compliance services for airports?
Yes. The DOJ rule sets WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the technical standard, and your deadline depends on who you are: April 26, 2027 for a public entity serving 50,000 or more people, and April 26, 2028 for smaller entities or any special district government — which is how most airport authorities are organized. We build to that standard and keep sites there after launch.
What aviation-specific website services does Aviatrix Communications offer?
Airport websites built on Foxtrot, our own WordPress-based CMS made specifically for airports. It ships with prebuilt airport widgets and is built around WCAG 2.1 AA, so accessibility isn't a retrofit. We've designed more than 50 airport websites now under our maintenance program, and flypsp.com won Best Website at the 2023 ACI-NA Marketing and Communications Awards.
Is Aviatrix Communications a certified business?
We're a certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), certified by the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority and based in San Diego, California. Airports and prime consultants can apply our marketing, outreach and website scopes toward DBE participation goals on federally funded projects. If your procurement team needs the certificate on file, ask and we'll send it.
How does Aviatrix Communications support airport marketing efforts?
Usually we build backward from a date — a route launch, a terminal opening, a master plan that needs the community on board. Then we do whatever that date demands: advertising, branding, the website, air service marketing, or a crisis plan finished before anyone needs it. Our PR programs for San Bernardino International and New Orleans Louis Armstrong both won ACI-NA Marketing and Communications Awards.
